Here’s how you can fast forward your life through well-being

We live in an incredibly fast paced world where speed is invariably used as a measure of performance. How quickly can you complete your tasks? How many tasks can you accommodate in a day? How can you ensure maximum productivity through your day? And just like that, to perform better we find ourselves speeding through moments of life without reflecting on the outcome, and ultimately ignoring our wellbeing which in turn ends up slowing us down. Our actions as we fast forward in matters of everyday life can impact our physical and mental wellbeing.

So how can one continue making progress without sacrificing personal wellbeing? Consciously adopting wellbeing practices can help you attain your goals with greater personal fulfillment. Here are some wellbeing practices that can help you accelerate your progress as you go for that hustle:

  1. Practicing Gratitude

It was only until recently that the Pandemic forced the collective worldwide to slow down and pursue life by the day. Realization of good health and gratitude for life may have come as a silver lining to this disruption, however one need not wait for disruptive events to be grateful for their blessings. When practicing gratitude, we tend to experience more positive emotions, express more compassion and kindness, sleep better, feel more alive and also improve our immune system. Gratitude need not be reserved for special occasions. Sure you might experience gratitude when you get a promotion but you can also be thankful for something as simple as eating a delicious slice of cake. Practicing gratitude can increase wellbeing and life satisfaction, helping you truly fast forward in life.

  1. Listening to your body

Stress is a normal reaction the body incurs in the form of emotional, physical and intellectual responses to any major changes in the surrounding or when the mind is under pressure. By listening to your body and realizing these stressors and their impact early on, you can nip the problem in the bud. Following healthy habits and practicing mindfulness can help you manage stress and anxiety efficiently. Simple exercises, listening to music, pursuing a hobby or doing what you love can help reduce stress and anxiety. By including wellbeing activities as a part of your daily life, you can better manage stress, be less anxious and move through life’s stressors in a faster, healthier way.

  1. Practicing Acceptance

We make many decisions everyday and it’s only natural for some of our decisions to not yield desired outcomes. Persistently mulling over wrong decisions can however end up slowing us down. For outcomes that are beyond our control, we typically find ourselves thinking about how life would’ve been if we could play out our choices differently, only to realize the rabbit hole of gloom. The best way to move forward from bad decisions is to leave the baggage of the past by accepting it for what it is. Accepting your situation and forgiving yourself for the blind spots will help you bounce back and move forward with better learning.

While integrating these wellbeing practices, it is also important to surround yourself with people who care about you, guide you and always help you to be a better version of yourself. It may seem difficult at first to integrate these in your already fast paced life, but these practices are extremely important to fast forward your success with greater fulfillment. May we all find peace in this fast forward world.
